“Offering surrealism to the world” : This is the ambition of this completely free access website on the collection that André Breton put together throughout his life in his studio at 42 Rue Fontaine. This collection of some 10,000 objects, artworks and documents sold at auction in 2003 did not completely disappeared as you are able to discover it here in its entirety, something that was simply impossible at the time of Rue Fontaine.
Administered by the Association Atelier André Breton, chaired by Aube Breton-Elléouët, the daughter of the poet, the website is now present in the form of a evolving database which, thanks to the wiki technology, allows everyone to enrich it at any time and anywhere in the world. The experts for the 2003 auction wrote most of the descriptive records, while Constance Krebs writes titles, and completes those without text, as well as updating the records written in 2003.
